01 · Overview
LetItGo 1.0 is a small web ritual that turns invisible emotions into visible light.
Instead of typing feelings into a notes app and closing the window, users are invited to write their emotions onto a floating water lantern.
When they press “Let it Go”, the lantern drifts into a night lake, other lanterns quietly converge around it, and the sky gradually transforms from deep ink green to a hopeful purple and gold.
The goal of this prototype is not to “fix” emotions, but to give them a gentle container and an ending form—something the user can watch, thank, and release.
Cinematic Interaction Motion — V1 Prototype
A cinematic 3D experience visualizing how emotions gather, drift, collide, and return through floating lanterns.
02· Design Logic
Virtual Ritual Space
Designed as a calm digital environment where users can “nest” their anxiety or negative emotions before releasing them.
Emotion → Object Translation
Typed emotions transform into a softly glowing lantern, giving abstract feelings a visual, tangible form.
Light as Metaphor
Lantern glow expands on input (acknowledgment) and fades during drift (release), visualizing emotional transformation.
Why Lantern?
A lantern acts as a gentle emotional container, giving the user’s anxiety or negative feelings a safe place to rest before release.
Its slow drifting movement mirrors real emotional processing—gradual, intentional, and calming rather than abrupt.
Transforming a traditional ritual into a digital one creates an intuitive, symbolic experience that needs no explanation yet feels emotionally meaningful.
